I have to say a massive THANKS and CONGRATULATIONS to every single one of you one, staff, volunteers and befriendees who were all involved in the evaluation process and provided interviews in support of our service. This is a credit to your efforts and support
Well done to all of you, as of 14th March 2021 we have been re-accredited as a Quality Befriending Service and I am rightly proud of every single one of you.

New Staff member

Hi everyone, I want to say Hi to our new professional befriender Lynn. She has a wealth of experience both in running her own business, volunteering and working with charities for almost a decade.

She will be a real asset to our small dynamic team, Welcome Lynn

Our Vision and Aim

Our well-established and award-winning befriending service, which is funded from Big Lotto, has been designed to help the most lonely and isolated people in South Ayrshire and building “stronger bridges” within these communities.

In these troubling times we have also had to adapt and extend our services across most of Ayrshire and due to the physical distancing rules and the necessity to self isolate, to help alleviate where we can, the damage to everyone’s mental health and anxiety levels.

How do I get involved ?

If you feel lonely or isolated for whatever reason, befriending services are there to help you. We will help you to connect with people and feel more comfortable in your home and your community. If you are over 16, interested or know someone who may be, or you feel would benefit from such a service, then please fill in this referral form and email it to Jim at: Seascape befriendee

alternatively call Jim, our Befriending Co-ordinator on 07436033464 or leave a text message

If you are interested in volunteering with us, we offer award winning training and references (after a qualifying period of 6months), that would be considered highly desirable for any future employer.

After meeting and discussing your interests, we will match you with a  service user or, “befriendee,” who will meet up with you on a one to one basis for a few hours, each week. This can be to meet up for a coffee and chat or to take up a hobby, sport or interest, its up to you to decide.

We are always looking for volunteer befrienders, even those with only a few hours a week for a comforting phone call for example.

Volunteering for Seascape is easy, in the first instance by filling in our  referral form and send it to Jim at:  Seascape volunteer

Alternatively call Jim on: 07436033464 to make an appointment

As everyone is no doubt aware we have all been asked to stay indoors at
the moment. However our befriending service goes on and to that end we
have massively ramped up our tel or distance befriending scheme offering
everything from one to one tele befriending to group training on
Zoom, Skype and internet messenger, Line dancing and music quizzes

Exciting News

We are going to pilot a new befriending group in East Ayrshire…
We want all you silver surfers to come along and .. learn to swipe, tweet and check your gigabytes, email, print and shop safely online… or bring your boots and hat and have a wee line dance…. then sit back, relax and enjoy a cake and a cuppa with good friends old and new…all for free….

By encouraging befriendees and volunteers to attend a group befriending environment we quickly realised that this was a popular idea and although hesitant at first most service users relaxed into this friendly, family group setting. The members decide what and how the group operates, whether it is a weekly quiz for arts and crafts sessions or a general natter coffee and cake session.
Anyone can come along to our group befriending, even matched pairs or those just showing an interest.

We have a few groups running at the moment,
